When you see videos of bodybuilders eating…
Mostly what you’ll see is them eating various portions of meat + a grain or a vegetable.
But there’s almost always some amount of eggs, tofu, meat, cheese, beans, peas, lentils, nuts or some kind of “protein food” in every single meal they eat.
The assumption is that the more protein you eat, the more gains you make.
The problem is that nobody actually questioned this default position.
Everybody says:
“But Adam! The science says that you need 1g of protein per 0.6kg of body mass.”
Yada yada yada.
My point is that every single gym bro / bodybuilder starts their journey with that assumption…
and they never even THINK to question the alternatives.
You see, we live in a culture where most people aren’t autonomous thinkers.
Most humans you see (even if they have big muscles) do very little independent sense-making.
They follow a “monkey-see, monkey-do” philosophy.
The idea is: “some smarter monkey than me must have figured this stuff out… so what’s the point of questioning?”
Well, actually, there’s a very good reason to question the status quo (especially in the bodybuilding space).
I’ve seen a few bodybuilders get shredded by eating mainly fruits / leafy greens / and starchy vegetables for their calories.
(I’m talking 12 bananas, a whole watermelon, and entire tub of salad, a bag of potatoes, etc.)
These bodybuilders not only get jacked … but they also get cut.
The elephant in the room that nobody realizes is that eating massive portions of “protein foods” is seriously fatty.
When you’re shooting for 200g of protein per day (which is a hyper-inflated number that is clearly influenced by corporate agendas of meat, dairy, egg, and protein-suppliment industries)…
And you’re eating meat for breakfast lunch and dinner… along with 3 protein shakes… lots of beans, tofu, eggs, etc.
Even if you’re getting “grass-fed meats” and “farm raised eggs” , “raw milk” etc.
You don’t realize that you’re bringing massive quantities of fat into your body.
That’s because what we traditionally think of as “protein foods” are really high in fat.
You don’t think that eating all this fat has any adverse effects on the body?
Well, think again.
As we learn from the Medical Medium information who is a world-leading expert at diagnosing, healing, and reversing chronic illnesses of all kinds.
We learn that too much fat in the diet can overburden the liver… leading to fatty and sluggish livers.
When you have an overburdened liver, you’re now susceptible to all sorts of chronic health issues such as (but not limited to):
- skin problems (eczema, psoriasis)
- severe allergies (chemical, seasonal, food-based)
- type 2 diabetes
- heart attacks
- thyroid issues
- bone problems
- sudden weight gain (think muffin top and chunky belly)
- brain fog, chronic fatigue syndrome, nerve issues, etc.
When you’re a young and strong 20-something… it’s easy to think that you’re indestructible.
Your liver hasn’t had enough time to bio-accumulate rancid fats, toxic chemicals, heavy metals, viruses, pathogens, etc.
So, you think you can eat 200g of protein per day and “get strong.”
But, what most people don’t realize (and aren’t willing to admit).
Is that our science in the domain of health is seriously flawed and ineffective… especially at diagnosing and treating the root cause of these chronic illnesses that are becoming more and more prevalent.
“So? What do I care, bro? All I want is more gains?”
That’s exactly what I’m saying.
When you’re a 20-something arrogant hard-head who thinks that their body is indestructible… and you’re following a “monkey-see, monkey-do” diet protocol.
You’re pretty much guaranteed to speed up the deterioration of your liver … which will lead to many serious health problems down the road.
(Think about when you’re 40 years old and you develop random red splotches on your face, or suddenly gain 100 pounds, or have tooth and gum decay, or irritable bowel syndrome, etc.)
Medical Medium has seen this happen time and time again.
This is not speculation.
This is the real world.
Young men (and women) are lured into the idea that in order to be “big, strong, and sexy” … they need to eat more protein.
The problem?
That’s not how it works.
“But Adam! The science!”
You are correct to point out that the current mainstream science does suggest that eating more protein will make you more gains.
But that doesn’t mean that mainstream science is accurate.
If you develop a thyroid problem, or a skin rash like eczema, or diabetes type 2 … what will mainstream science do?
Give you some made-up diagnosis like “it’s your genetics” or “it’s your immune system attacking you.”
(Even though, that’s not accurate at all. Auto-immunity is a theory, not a fact.)
And then, since they don’t understand the cause of your illness, they’ll give you a pill that only deals with the symptom but will never truly heal you.
This sort of ignorance is highly profitable for pharmaceutical industries…
And the pharmaceutical industries LOVE when people are 100% convinced that eating 200g of protein from meat, eggs, dairy, tofu, etc. is the ONLY WAY to be strong and build muscle.
So, what’s my point here?
Mainstream science is not very evolved when it comes the domain of health.
(Now, I understand that you could make the counter-argument that maybe science doesn’t have chronic illness figured out, but they DO have bodybuilding figured out. At which point I would agree that that is a good point, which is why I made a long video about protein linked at the end of this article where I go into deeper depth at the lack of good-quality experimentation and genuine interest in testing alternatives in the health science/bodybuilding space. The video is linked at the end of this article.)
95% percent of the monkeys you see out there will look at a couple mainstream sources of diet/nutrition info and assume it to be true as a default position. “Because everybody else is doing it.”
They’re not able to look under the surface at what’s actually happening.
They’ve been duped by a questionably effective medical/health/nutrition system that is not immune to corrupting influences from business and profit incentives.
People aren’t ready to understand that science is not immune from corporate corruption.
While, we are making (very slow) progress in our health science … our current system is 100+ years away from truly understanding how to keep a human being healthy.
(And how they can grow big and strong muscles if they wish).
“So, Adam, what’s your solution, then? To blindly believe in your New Age quack-pot guy “Medical Medium” who gets all his information from talking to a ghost?”
No, actually.
My solution is not to “blindly believe” in anything.
(That’s what got us into this mess in the first place, remember?)
I understand that most people aren’t ready to base their health information on a source that isn’t backed up by mainstream scientific authorities.
Especially because there’s SO MUCH alternative health garb-o out there… it’s almost impossible to accurately discern which info is good quality vs which info is made up by some crystal hugging spirit-worshipper.
But, still, getting paralyzed by confusion is not an option either… because at the end of the day… you’re still going to have to eat food, whether you like it or not.
So, refusing to participate in this process of discovering what’s actually true in the health-space will land you back in the default position.
And do you remember what that is?
200g of unnecessary protein. Sick, fatty, overburdened liver that is full of chemicals and toxins. Guaranteed health problems in your later years (back pain, IBS, nerve damage, allergies, skin issues, weight gain, etc.). With white coat-wearing doctors recommending you pills on top of pills in order to help you ”solve” your problem.
So, with that in mind, here is my solution that is rooted in sound epistemological principles and doesn’t require you to “blindly believe” in some shit that might lose you gains… or worse… make you sick:
1. Admit that “being on the side of science” in our current health climate is not something to brag about.
Medical science is in the dark ages. Just admit it. If you don’t see this, you’re a fool. For many people, it takes them developing a chronic illness, going to 12 doctors, getting nothing more than shoulder shrugs and pills, until they realize the depth of our problem.
Note: That doesn’t automatically make alternative sources “better.” Alternative medicine is also subject to corruption and delusion. So, we are in quite the mess. But, realizing the depth of the problem is the first step towards solving it.
2. Study a wide-range of different diet philosophies.
You need to have a “broad view” of the entire landscape of modern health. It’s important to have a “general gist” of what’s being promoted out there, so that you can compare and contrast the quality / accuracy of various ideas.
Study: paleo, vegan, keto, high-protein, low sugar, brain-gut connection, snake diet, carnivore, fermented foods, collagen, raw milk, anti-inflammation, Medical Medium, etc.
You need to see the general patterns of what’s being recommended out there.
Most people are simply lacking a broad diversity of perspectives. That’s why they get stuck and confused. They can’t see the big-picture.
DON’T GET STUCK IN ONE PERSPECTIVE!!!
Always be on the lookout for alternatives.
3. Compare the different levels of understanding.
- How deeply does each perspective actually understand the root causes of illness?
- What are their sources?
- Are they good-quality sources?
- Is there an industry behind them that could potentially be funding / corrupting their information?
- Is it effective? Is there a track record of people consistently a repeatedly healing and reversing their illnesses? Gaining muscle? Having clear and vibrant skin? Etc.
- For each person who “healed” using this information:
- How sick were they?
- What did they try before?
- What was their previous diet prior to making the change?
- How long did their healing last?
- Did their results plateau after 1-2 years?
- How does their skin look? Do they have a bright and vibrant aura?
- Does it pass the common-sense test? (For example: eating only meat doesn’t pass the common sense test because we know that our ancestors ate lots of fruits, vegetables, roots, chutes, tubers, etc.)
- Is their understanding holistic? Does it consider a variety of different factors and inter-connecting variables in the human body + the environment that it lives in? (Or does it oversimplify? Boiling down the complexities of the human body to numbers on a spreadsheet. Ex. “eat 1g protein per 0.6kg of body mass”)
- What’s the “explanatory power?” Is the perspective able to account for the numerous edge-cases and anomalies? Or does it crumble easily when faced with examples that contradict its philosophy
4. Test and experiment.
This is the most dangerous step. But, once you’ve done your due diligence of studying a wide variety of sources and comparing the quality of their ideas, now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is.
General tips:
Give yourself at least 3-6 months of experimentation.
It’s okay to use qualitative metrics when measuring your results (How do I feel? How’s my digestion? My energy levels?) But, you really have to be careful here because it’s SO EASY to deceive yourself. (Example: teeth take up to 3 years to heal… so if changing your diet “makes your teeth hurt” … it’s not because of that diet’s fault… it’s because of what you were eating 3 years ago).
Do the protocols fully and properly. (Don’t half-ass it… go all-in.)
Understand that “blood testing” is not an accurate way to measure your results.
I’ve seen some very arrogant nutrition-bros say things like “if you’re not testing your blood at least every 3-6 months then you’re not serious about improving your health.”
This is total horseshit.
#1. Many of the most important metrics won’t appear on a blood test. (The amount of toxins, poisons in your liver, your viral load, the thickness of your blood, heavy metals in your body, etc.)
#2 Health is not a number on a spreadsheet. Please understand this. There are so many variables that go into determining what numbers in the blood test are “average” versus “above/below average.” Many of the averages recognized by science are inaccurate.
#3 Taking blood out of your body lowers your immune system for up to 3-6 months. This is not understood by most “health fanatics.”
To conclude,
I know that they health field is extremely overwhelming with all sorts of people yelling at you about perspectives that may or may not be true.
But, that doesn’t mean it’s hopeless.
It is possible to discover what is actually true in reality. But it takes work, commitment, open-mindedness, curiosity, and the willingness to question the status quo.
It is possible for you to gain muscle, be strong, have beautiful skin and hair, and be completely free from chronic disease that is plaguing our population in such a massive at that it has become “normalized” to live with these chronic conditions (like eczema, thyroid problems, indigestion, UTIs, reproductive issues, back pain, brain fog, depression, anxiety, etc.).
You can be healthy.
You can be strong.
You can be your best self.
It just requires a bit of vision, foresight, and the ability to see what’s possible.
Don’t settle for less-than-clear diet philosophies. Don’t settle for eating chicken and rice 5 times a day with 3 protein shakes. (That’s obviously weird and unnatural. Gorillas don’t drink 3 protein shakes per day and they eat 99% plants yet they are 800 pounds of solid muscle).
Don’t fall into monkey-see, monkey-do style thinking.
Just because “science says” that doesn’t make it true.
Science has varying degrees and qualities. And in our current age, it’s highly corrupted by corporate incentives, capitalistic greed, and a paradigm that is locked-in to an overly mechanistic and reductionist way of modelling reality. Reducing the complexities of the human body to brute numbers and measurements is not an effective way to keep a human being healthy and strong, long-term.
So, don’t be the gym bro who mucks chicken and rice 5 times per day for the sake of gains…
without ever trying anything else.
What if you’re actually compromising the health of your future self? And your children? By allowing these radical fats to bio-accumulate in your liver, overburdening it, causing it to become fatty and sluggish, and preventing it from doing its various jobs of cleaning your body and protecting you?
And don’t be the arrogant nutritionist who says:“But Adam! The science is conclusive that you need 1g of protein for every 0.6kg of body mass to optimize muscle gains!”
I call bullshit on that science.
There are massive corporate incentives to buy studies and lobby the government + higher education institutions to teach these “facts” which aren’t true.
If you’d like to learn more about what my personal research process has lead me to regarding this vast and complex subject …
Alright, that’s all for today 🙂
Good luck!

Adam
