Hey my friend,
A great indicator of your true life purpose is:
“What’s the first thing that you’re excited to do on a Saturday morning?”
This is such a clever way to ask yourself “what are my true priorities in life?”
Because… when you wake up on a Saturday morning…
and you have the whole weekend ahead of you…
– what do you do?
– what are you thinking about?
– how do you fill your time?
– what’s the first thing that you dive into?
Back in 2018 when I was trying to get more clear about my life purpose…
I asked myself this “Saturday morning” question…
and I found myself walking around my neighbourhood listening to my favourite YouTube creator talk about philosophy, science, and spirituality.
I would have debates and discussions about the subjects in my own head…
and I would get so excited to argue about “who was right, the materialists or the idealists?” as I walked around the neighbourhood…
Creating points and counter-points… trying to build a bulletproof argument…
It wasn’t clear to me at first that arguing about things I believe to be truecould be a “valid” life purpose…
but, it gave me a clue to where my “true heart” was lying…
6 years later…
I basically do the same thing every morning… wake up, drink lemon water, and go for a walk and create arguments for why my view of reality is a good one.
It’s not just about proving how smart I am… it’s about giving people high-quality thoughts that actually benefit their lives…
for example, >> here was the video that I created today (about eating a healthy diet)
So, think to yourself:
“What am I most excited to do on a Saturday morning when I have thewhole weekend ahead of me?“
And get really curious about that.
by the way, if your answer is “play video games” or “scroll social media” the whole day, you may want to:
1. take a break from those things to give yourself space to move towards something more aligned with your heart
2. get curious about what you’re specifically looking at on social media. That could be a clue.
(again, if it’s just doomscrolling, then maybe take a little break from that and do something more enlivening)
Alright, I hope this was helpful!
